Our Key People
" I remember my first splinter from padauk lumber. I fell in love with exotic wood at that moment. The colour was so beautiful. It hurt, but I wouldn’t have had it any other way. I maintain, organize and sell exotic timbers out of Toronto while I wait for the Leafs to win the Cup. "
" My parents built our family cottage in Northern Ontario when I was 8 years old, and I spent all my summer school holidays there. We planted over 100 pine saplings we purchased from the forestry department to repopulate the land. I have wonderful memories of my childhood swimming, boating and exploring the surrounding forest. "
" As a kid, all I did was play sports almost making it professional baseball. My childhood was the best. To later being instrumental in supplying half a million feet of Birdseye maple veneer to the iconic Circus Circus hotel in Las Vegas. I live and love fully every opportunity that presents itself to me. "
" I grew up on a large family farm in Southern Ontario, located about 2 hours west of Toronto. When I wasn’t working on the farm, I was either cutting wood in the bush or in the shop, working on a carpentry project. 25+ years later that love of wood is still very much alive! "
" My life has always revolved around the outdoors, from growing up with my family in the wood industry, to my time as a park ranger in Algonquin Park, and recently working on environmental restoration projects in New Zealand. I’m excited to be a part of the CWP team and to have the opportunity to work with and learn about all of the beautiful wood from around the world. "
" My first experience with wood in architecture was the reopening of the Art Gallery of Ontario when I was 12 years old. It was beautifully designed by Frank Gehry. The fantastical Galleria Italia space overlooking Dundas St, wood spiral staircases, and plywood seating sparked my interest in the use of wood in architecture. It was also my favourite place to study during design school! "
